Can someone tell me the difference in these two scenarios?
First, a politician has ties to a defense contractor, which has contracted to do large scale, super expensive projects in a fledgling Democracy. The politician is "accused" to have begun the conflict in the Region in order to acquire business for the firm he used to represent.
Second, a different politician leads a "revolution" on saving the planet by using alternative energy sources or purchasing "credits" to offset fossil fuel energy usage. It is revealed that the politician owns a company that sells carbon offsets.
Both men stand to earn large sums of money based on their affiliation with the companies mentioned.
Is there any difference between the two men?
Of course the first man in question is Dick Cheney, and Haliburton. The other is Al Gore and his Generation Investment Management company.
